| Subject: 3 New Cars For India This July Tue Jul 19, 2011 2:52 am | |
| In India it will be raining cats and dogs this July, albeit a little differently. Three cars are likely to be launched this month covering three popular segments. While the New Fiesta sedan is a retouched version of Ford's best selling car in India, there would be Mercedes engine powered Force One SUV and the last but no the least, the Chevrolet Beat Diesel.
New Ford Fiesta 2011 The New Ford Fiesta is all set to hit the roads soon. Three things will primarily differentiate it from the present generation Fiesta - design and styling, high level of convenience and comfort and voice activated entertainment and communication console.
Plus the all new central console and steering wheel with audio controls on it are first in the new Fiesta. Considering the new styling and features, it is expected that Ford will price it higher than the existing Ford Fiesta. It could be placed in the price range of Rs 600,000 to Rs 900,000.
Force One SUV Force One is a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) by Force Motors India which is primarily into commercial vehicles. The Force One SUV is a C+ segment car with a 2.2L CRDi engine by Mercedes. In anticipation for over two years now, the SUV has been recently christened by the company.
UK's Lotus Engineering has adapted the suspension of the car to Indian road conditions and we can expect that big potholes will do no wrong to the car. The seven seater SUV will weigh 1570kg and will be available in 2x2, 4x4 capabilities. It is expected to be available in the price range of Rs 12 to Rs 15 lakh (Rs 1.2 to 1.5 million) and would primarily rival Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio, Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
Chevrolet Beat Diesel This would be the most anticipated car of the month. It is a small diesel offering by Chevrolet. Its petrol version also raked in good sales figures.
The Beat Diesel will be powered by 936cc TDCi engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 57 bhp at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 150 Nm at 1750 rpm.
Beat Diesel will be available in four variants. Once launched it would be the most compact diesel car offering in India. The Beat Diesel is expected to offer 24kmpl mileage in normal driving conditions.
