| Your resume is the first thing that an interviewer goes through, and it is also the deciding factor in most interviews. So, it is absolutely essential to make sure that you have made your resume as perfect as possible. Here are a few quick tips to help you transform your resume into a job guaranteeing ticket :-
- Don't use any eye-soring colors or graphics on your resume. Its a profile not a cartoon strip.
- Make sensible email-ids for your resume. 'thekingofcool' or 'superwoman' are not ids that will get you a job in the regular world.
- Maintain a consistent format for your fonts, spacing, paragraphing and margins
- Review your resume two or three times and make sure it doesn't have any grammatical errors or spelling mistakes
- Make sure all the information in your resume is correct and verifiable. So inform the people whom you have kept as references that you are going to be attending an interview.
- Keep the details short and crisp. Don't write an essay in the 'career objective' section.
These are just a few of the basic tips that need to necessarily be followed while preparing your resume for a job. I'll be posting more details on this topic in the coming days.
