Job Interviews - The Perfect Resume/ C.V [ Part 2] Empty
PostSubject: Job Interviews - The Perfect Resume/ C.V [ Part 2]   Job Interviews - The Perfect Resume/ C.V [ Part 2] EmptyWed Jul 20, 2011 11:23 pm

In the previous post i had discussed some basic points to be followed that maximize the chances of your resume getting selected. Now in this part lets go into some of the finer details related to taking your resume closer to perfection :-

  • Do not copy - Don't ever copy the resume of someone else. No matter how good the resume may seem or how sure you are that you can get through with a profile like that, don't do it. Every candidate has his/her strengths and weaknesses which are most likely to be pointed only by the careful inspection from the interviewer. But, you can definitely use a good resume as a reference, and maintain th same format or presentation.

  • Pay attention to what you put in - Your resume is not a trash bin so don't put anything and everything that comes to your mind. Be honest and only fill in things which you know are a fact. This is with special reference to sections like hobbies, interests, languages, skills, etc. You are most likely to be questioned based on the details you give in the resume so don't create an embarrassing situation for yourself by putting things you don't know about.

  • Take the time to ask questions- After a preliminary preparation of a rough draft for the resume, read through it and ask yourself questions based on it. This makes you realize any gaps in your resume and also makes sure you are getting used to the possible questions.

  • Keep your resume crisp - The interviewer doesn't have time to go through a journal that speaks only about you. Present the finest details in the most effective manner by keeping it short and crisp.

  • Review - If possible through your ego away and ask a few professionals you know, to review your resume and suggest changes. Also, go through your resume ten times or more to spot any grammatical or spelling errors.

Hope this series has been helpful to all of you. Please do let me your comments and/or any questions that you may have on the topic .
All the best
