(1)Avocados: Avocados are very high in fiber and they also contain potassium, vitamin K, folate and other nutrients. Avocados have been found to reduce cholesterol levels and they also lessen the risk of diabetes and cancer.

(2)Apples: Apples contain anti-oxidants, fiber and vitamin C. Apples are great for your skin and they reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. It is not for nothing that the saying; ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’, is famous.

(3)Berries: Berries contain vitamins and phytochemicals which help prevent many diseases. Berries also tend to show many anti-cancer properties and several studies have shown that berries slow down the ageing process.

(4)Salmon: Eating salmon is great for the bones, it also saves the bones from getting osteoporosis, and consuming salmon improves one’s immune system and it is also good for brain development. Besides all that, it is also a delicious fish.

(5)Beans: Beans keep cholesterol level in check and according to a study, eating three quarters of a bowl of beans a day can reduce the risk of a heart attack by as much as 40%. Beans also protect one against diabetes. Beans are rich in proteins, potassium and fibers.

(6)Mushrooms: Mushrooms are rich in potassium, vitamin E and selenium (anti-oxidants). Mushrooms are also good at preventing heart diseases, reduce the risk of high blood pressure and cancer.

(7)Walnuts: Walnuts are one of the most nutritious foods available and they are rich in fatty acids, anti-oxidants and amino acids. Walnuts are helpful to people suffering from asthma and inflammatory diseases.

(8)Almonds: Almonds are rich in monounsaturated fats (good fats) which reduce the risk of heart disease. Almonds also help the blood to flow smoothly through the body and protect one from high blood pressure. Almonds are also rich in magnesium and vitamin E.

(9)Linseeds: Linseeds are small in size but that doesn’t prevent them from keeping your brain healthy. Linseeds also help in moderate constipation.

(10)Pomegranates: Pomegranates have been found to be helpful in keep off many deadly diseases. Pomegranates are rich in folic acids, vitamin C, vitamin E, calcium, potassium and iron. They are also famous for their high anti-oxidant content.
