MARGAO: A 30-year old widow from Nuvem was allegedly gang-raped by at least six persons at Cuncolim on Saturday.

Cuncolim police registered an offence on Sunday against unknown persons and have taken into custody a suspect for interrogation, police sources said.

Police sources said that one of the six accused was known to the victim. He allegedly invited the lady to Cuncolim on Saturday and when the unsuspecting victim went to meet him as he suggested, she was taken to a room where he, along with five others allegedly raped her.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, Cuncolim police booked an offence against unknown accused and are conducting further investigations.
