JULY 13th-Tamil superstar Rajinikanth returns in Chennai on Wednesday night, nearly one-and-a-half month after he flew out to Singapore for medical treatment.
The actor will be accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth and two daughters - Aishwarya and Soundarya.
Sources close to the family said that the actor will drive straight to his farm house near here and take rest there for about a month.
The matinee idol is expected to resume shooting for the movie Rana, produced by Ochre Studios headed by his daughter Soundarya.
Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is cast opposite him in the movie directed by K.S.Ravikumar.
Security at the airport is being beefed up as a large number of the actor's fans are expected to turn up there when the superstar arrives here by Singapore Airlines.
Festoons, banners and posters have been put up by the actor's fans along the roads leading to the airport.
The 60-year-old actor, who made his mark as a character actor in the movie "Aarulirunthu Arupathu Varai" (From Six to 60 Years), was flown to Singapore May 27 and admitted to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital the next day.
Rajinikanth was discharged from the hospital last month but he continued to remain in the island country for periodic check-ups and to get sufficient rest.
On May 13, he was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre here with fever and fluid retention following acute gastro-intestinal and respiratory problems. He was discharged from hospital on 28th May.
At the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Rajinikanth underwent advanced treatment, including hemodialysis.
Rajinikanth was earlier admitted to St. Isabel Hospital April 29 after a bout of vomiting, and was discharged in the evening.
On 5th May, he was again admitted to the ICU of St. Isabel Hospital after allergic bronchitis and fever.
